Order of the German Eagle
Instituted on 1st May 1937. (1937-1943). Constructed of silver, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing a raised depiction of the Order of the German Eagle. The reverse bearing a raised inscription of “DEUTSCHE VERDIENST-MEDAILLE” in Fraktur script. The edge is maker marked “PR. MÜNZE BERLIN” for the Prussian State Mint in Berlin with a silver content number of “835” and a crescent moon indicating German manufacture. The medal measures 38.04 mm in diameter and weighs 20.6 grams and is in overall better than very fine condition.
